Wedding at the Old Mill in Rigaud – V+A

It was at the Vieux Moulin in Rigaud, last June, that Vivianne and Alexis got married in front of a few close friends. Hand-picked friends and family. They planned their wedding in the middle of Covid. When they didn't yet know if gatherings of more than 25 people would be allowed. When they contacted me a few months before, they were juggling the idea of having a dinner to welcome half of the guests. Then having a supper and welcoming the other half.
Fortunately, the rules having changed in the meantime, they were able to celebrate with all their loved ones gathered at the same time. Since the couple didn't really want to have any photos of the preparations, I found them separately. at the venue. It was about an hour before the ceremony at the Vieux Moulin. Together for over twenty years, they were still excited, a little nervous and very excited to say I DO!

Outdoor ceremony at the Old Mill
Built around 1830, the Vieux Moulin is such a picturesque and enchanting place that when you set foot there for the first time, you have no choice but to exclaim out loud at the beauty of the site! The ceremony, celebrated on the water's edge, was beautiful and intimate. The bride and groom exchanged touching vows and performed the sand ritual with their children.

Located right next to the Mill, the pond is the perfect place to take a group photo. The late afternoon light was beautiful.
So we took advantage of the cocktail hour to take some pictures with the bride and groom alone, while walking around the large idyllic site of the Old Mill. Because everywhere you go, there is something beautiful to see. In fact, it was my second visit and I don't think I have discovered everything yet haha! At the end of our walk, the children came to join us to walk a little with us. To finally take some family pictures.

Luna the Beautiful!
When I photographed a wedding three years ago, I was surprised to see horses while walking with the bride and groom! So I was looking forward to seeing the beautiful Luna again, who is so calm and majestic. She loves having her picture taken too! On the other hand, we don't see her white companion Moon Shadow in the photos. He's a little more embarrassed I think!

It is on the upper floor of the Vieux Moulin that wedding receptions take place. There was such beautiful light in this month of June that I took the opportunity to take pictures of decorations. Also, I found the decoration beautiful, chic and simple.

Wedding reception in the main hall of the Old Mill
The DJ/MC, whose names escape me, created a truly festive atmosphere. They organized a few games to get the guests involved. Their good humor was contagious. The evening was punctuated with speeches and dancing. I left the reception shortly after the newlyweds' first dance. A first dance with choreography and everything! The couple had practiced in the preceding weeks. In short, it was a perfect day, with perfect weather too! And what's more, it was my birthday! A thoughtful touch that the bride and groom highlighted with the help of the MC. I was touched and surprised, for example! And finally, a little embarrassed that everyone wished me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY at the same time!!!
