Wedding at the Royal Laurentian Golf Course and Chalets: N+J

Wedding photographer at Chalet Inukshuk of Royal Laurentian Golf

It was last August, in the backyard of a chalet at the Royal Laurentien resort. Jérémy and Nathalie were married in front of a few close friends and family. First of all, I should mention that it was a very hot and humid day. In fact, the ideas they had for celebrating their love couldn't have been more fitting. A groom without a jacket, children and a grandfather in sandals, and a private beach behind the chalet. Not to mention a go-kart ride to explore the nearby golf course. A golf course that I think is among the most beautiful in Quebec, and especially in the Laurentians! So, I started the day by photographing the accessories in the bride's room, in the largest chalet on the resort. Then I joined Jérémy, who was getting ready with his sons and family in the chalet next door, rented by his brother.

A true "backyard wedding" at Chalets Royal Laurentien

As my first backyard wedding I couldn't have asked for more. With a breathtaking view of the private lake and surrounding mountains, it was truly beautiful! Masterfully led by the officiant Dominique Spénard, the ceremony was beautiful, moving, funny and touching. The lovers having gotten engaged nine years before, it was time for them to say YES haha! I must say that in the meantime, they had three perfect children who always smiled when they saw me! I remember part of Jeremy's vows which said: "I am lucky because I found MY person 12 years ago already"

A walk on the Royal Laurentian Golf Course

So we took advantage of the cocktail hour to go for a go-kart ride. An organizer from the Golf Royal Laurentien accompanied us and led the way for our trio of go-karts. She knew exactly where to find the most beautiful places for me to photograph the bride and groom. Since the golf course is really big, I could have spent hours there taking pictures of the couple, the Laurentians are so beautiful!

A dinner with a food truck

Since their wedding was unconventional, the couple brought in the food truck from Pierino Gelato Laval for dinner. With a menu featuring several small courses, I also ended the day with ice cream! What did I love about my day in short? Laughing with the bride and groom, especially at how hot it was! I also loved the bride's custom-made dress by The Coup de Foudre shop. Then the dressing of the groom and the three boys. The superb bouquets of flowers made by She loves flowers as well as the beautiful cake of Anouk's Delights. Not to mention the food truck and especially the magnificent macramé arch made by the bride herself! All things that made this wedding unique and memorable!

A wedding at the Jude-Pomme orchard in Oka

Wedding photographer at Jude-Pomme in Oka

It's been almost a year since Rémi and Émilie's wedding took place at the Jude-Pomme orchard in Oka. I've wanted to blog their wedding for a long time (time flies)! A wedding that was able to adapt in the middle of a pandemic since they changed their plans several times. In May 2021, we were in full restrictions with an evening curfew! Receptions were not allowed, it was a beautiful, simple and loving wedding.

I remember the curfew because at the end of my day, I had to hurry to get back home to Montreal! Until the last minute, the couple kept me on the edge of my seat. It was with joy that I learned barely two weeks before the big day that everything would take place on the day I wanted. So it was at the bride's parents' house that I met Émilie during her preparation in order to immortalize the moment a little. I was strangely very zen for my first wedding of the year!

The lovers were celebrating their tenth anniversary that day. So the date was very important to them! Those I affectionately nicknamed Rémilie wanted to take a few photos separately at the Jude-Pomme orchard. So I joined Rémi a little before he left to prepare the ceremony. I was able to take a few portraits of him with his family and his groomsmen. Before the arrival of his sweetheart, his procession and his parents.

The outdoor ceremony in the Jude-Pomme orchard

We crossed our fingers that it wouldn't rain during the day, since everything was happening outdoors in the afternoon. The ceremony took place among the blossoming trees of the orchard. Standing close to the apple trees, I could hear the bees buzzing. But thank goodness, they didn't bother me! Too busy foraging!

Celebrated by the bride's brother-in-law, the ceremony was touching, funny and moving. It was like a dream, a little unrealistic, after everything we had just experienced for months. It was surrounded by their loved ones that Rémilie said yes, at the end of the orchard's flowering! How lucky we were when the trees lost their flowers a few days after the wedding!

Since the wedding reception couldn't take place, we opted to take the couple's photos in the early evening. Right at the right time, when the sun is lower and creates a beautiful light! It was perfect, since no one was waiting for us.

While a lot of weddings in the province were postponed that day, I want to thank the couple. I thank them for their trust, for knowing how to adapt and not worry on the big day! And for keeping their wedding date, in May. Having had a virtual meeting a few months before, it was the first time I saw them in person that day. They were receptive, generous and super nice!
