Wedding at Jude Pomme in Oka: Melissa and Jonathan

Melissa and Jonathan got married in the beautiful orchards of Jude Pomme in Oka in the summer of 2019. It was one of my favorite weddings of the year! Why? For several reasons! First of all, it was very rustic and country-style: the decorations, mostly done by the bride's mother, were perfect! I loved Melissa and Jonathan's kindness, their good humor, their jokes and laughter, and Melissa's dress (from Jude Pomme). Vézina Creations) and the guys' outfits, the procession that kept making me laugh, Melissa's "bridesman" or man of honor, the flowers, in short, pretty much all the choices they made to have their perfect day!

Melissa was really keen to have her first look with her dad. We had to find a spot where the guests wouldn't see the bride get out of the car. So we retreated to the shade of the barn so father and daughter could see each other privately. And it was so touching! Melissa's father was so proud of his daughter and even got a little teary-eyed!

The couple, together since 2008, said "I do" in the beautiful orchards of Jude Pomme. It was incredibly funny and touching at the same time. Also, I have to admit that over the years, I've seen fewer and fewer church weddings. And I find that ceremonies are much more personalized and intimate now. Just like the couple themselves. But at the same time, a church is SO BEAUTIFUL!

Right after the group photo, we went for a walk in the orchard to take family and wedding party photos. What an enchanting setting Oka is! I find the region truly magnificent! Melissa was determined to take photos in one of the small wooded areas on the vast grounds of Jude Pomme. And what a great idea! We were in the shade, and there was a light breeze. I won't lie, it felt amazing to stop being so hot for a little while, haha!

Once again, I was impressed by all the effort the bride and groom and Melissa's mother put into personalizing the decorations! Several spots featured photo frames, keepsakes, and cute little accessories. Ultimately, the evening unfolded in a joyful atmosphere, a sure sign that the couple knows how to surround themselves with the right people!

Wedding at the Constantin Sugar Shack in St-Eustache

Isabelle and Samuel said YES I do, at the Cabane à sucre Constantin, two days before the beginning of fall. The colors had started a little. It must be said that St-Eustache is in the Lower Laurentians haha! It's not like Montreal! After the engagement session done at the end of last winter with them, I was really looking forward to their big day! The engagement session always allows you to get to know couples better. And to learn a little more about what they like. I challenged them to always move during this session! And it worked! Plus, I find them so beautiful together and photogenic. It's like they complement each other. And one doesn't go without the other. That's love, right?

So I started my day by going to the bride and groom's house. Where Samuel, Riley (the bride and groom's son) and the groomsmen were waiting for me. I then headed five minutes away to Isabelle's prep. I like to mix up the bride and groom's prep in the books I make for them. I thought it would be nice to do the same for this post. So here it is:

A first look with the family!

I often start the day with getting the guys ready because they have to be ready before the girls. In order to welcome the guests to the ceremony. This time, we did a first look… but we said to ourselves that it’s less long and painful to be in a suit for a guy than to be in a wedding dress waiting. At first the dresses are new, never worn, less stretchy and sometimes the brides have difficulty sitting in them. It’s okay during the day at least. Otherwise they would never be able to sit at the reception haha!

The bride and groom absolutely wanted to do a "first look" as a family, with their 2 children then aged 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. When little Riley saw his mother walking towards her future, all beautiful and dressed as a bride, I managed to capture his expression! I was really well placed and it was a coincidence because I didn't think Isabelle would arrive right away! No but, isn't he pretty cute? It looks like he has stars in his eyes!

After the First Look, we headed to Moulin Légaré to take some of the couple's photos. Since the ceremony was late afternoon, we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful light, and the couple wanted some alone time together.

The wedding ceremony at the Constantin Sugar Shack

After the first look and some photos at Legare Mill In St-Eustache, we raced to arrive in time for the ceremony in one of Constantin's sugar shacks. There was a lot of traffic on the road, due to the apples that were starting to bloom! I loved this shack: rustic, beautiful, bright and still quite large! It's the shack that is in the first photo of the post, the one where the bride and groom are standing in front. The ceremony was celebrated by a friend of the couple. It was simple, beautiful and short (about 20 minutes from start to finish)!

No but isn't the beginning of autumn beautiful, huh? The colors, the light, the temperature, the sign of the changes to come, the heat wave that is over haha! I couldn't ask for better than to be with such a nice couple, open to my ideas and not complicated! What can I say about their clothes, right? Isabelle's dress (from YES I wish it) was gorgeous! Sam's outfit fit her like a glove and the flowers from Dion Garden They were superb! The evening flew by with speeches, games, and dancing. My day ended with the newlyweds' first dance. But just before, Isabelle had prepared a beautiful choreography with her father. It was very touching to see them both, with tears in their eyes.

A wedding at Grand Manitou Mont Tremblant summit and chapel St-Bernard

Cynthia and Luc's wedding reception was at the Grand Manitou Mont-Tremblant summit this summer. It was a hot but beautiful day. The views at the top of the mountain were STUNNING! I've never seen something quite like this before: mountains everywhere. But first things first haha… they got ready separately at Sommet des Neiges in the pedestrian village of Mont-Tremblant. The bride and groom were so happy, surrounded with their family and good friends. Living in Florida, it was actually the first time I met with them on their wedding day!

The Saint-Bernard Chapel

Cynthia and Luc were really looking forward for their big day. Luc, a native of Quebec city, moved years ago to Florida. The couple fell in love in 2012 after Cynthia moved to Luc's neighborhood in Boynton Beach. They hung out several times before quickly falling in love with each other. Both of them enjoy life and love the outdoors! After seeing the beauty of the Laurentians and realizing it was both English/French they knew it was going to be perfect. They wanted to get married in Mont-Tremblant at the top of the mountain! But before that, they had to find a church. And they did when they fell in love (again) with the Chapelle Saint-Bernard!

Hotel Quintessence in Mont-Tremblant

After the beautiful ceremony, we took a few pictures in front of the chapel. We went on to go at Hotel Quintessence which is located a few minutes away from the church (by walk). They were so nice to let us take pictures besides lake Tremblant. It started pouring rain, we went inside the hotel and saw the wonderful staircase at the entrance! There was no way I was going to leave without taking a few photos!

Cocktail time was great with the terrace overlooking the village. We left the hotel and took the cable car to go on Tremblant's summit. The VIEWS! What's to say about the views? They were INCREDIBLE! Breathtaking views on the Laurentians! So beautiful! I almost went nuts hahaha! When arriving at the Grand Manitou, we took a few photos with guests and families. Cynthia and Luc were so nice and trusted me when I told them we needed to take some more pictures of them alone. After all, the day belongs to them! And how about those memories we've created! I will never forget that day. The light, the newlyweds, the mountains. Such perfection! And shout out to Luc's brothers for being so helpful! They were chasing flies away from me when we were on top of Tremblant haha! They got out before sunset and were really loving me (the flies)!

Wedding on Navark Island in Boucherville: V + BP

Valérie and BP's magnificent wedding on Navark Island took place in early summer 2018. It's the kind of wedding you're still thinking about the next day, and even two days later. The kind where you feel lucky to have been there. A wedding filled with emotion, touching, and sincere. A wedding that celebrates the love of two wonderful people. A couple as kind as can be, generous, and beautiful! I started the day by joining the guys at the Hôtel de Mortagne in Boucherville. BP was getting ready there with his groomsmen and his two sons. A festive atmosphere was already in the air, which promised to be a great start to the day. Once the guys' prep photos were finished, I went to see Valérie, who was getting her hair and makeup done at home with her bridesmaids. I like to mix up the bride and groom's preparations when I write a blog post or printed books. It doesn't have to be chronological, in my opinion.

First look of the newlyweds before heading to Navark Island

I loved the First Look we did in Old Boucherville. I went to scout the day before the wedding. Bruno-Pierre would be waiting for Valérie on a street corner and I didn't want him to be in direct sunlight. I looked for a beautiful background and nice locations for the couple and procession photos. Let's face it, a group of 18 people is not easy, we had to find places that could "contain" them all.

And what a "First Look" it was! I had tears in my eyes it was so touching! But I had pictures to take and I stayed focused haha! It was super important for the bride and groom that their children were there. And even more touching to see their oldest, Justin, burst into tears at the sight of his mother! I think it was the most beautiful first look I have ever attended! I could hear the bridesmaids crying, behind the bride! And for Valérie, it was one of her favorite moments of the day!

Ceremony and reception on Navark Island

The couple wanted to get married in the same place where they danced their first slow dance together! It was in 2006, on Navark Island in Boucherville. The ceremony, officiated by BP's father, Pierre Marcotte, took place outdoors on site. It was funny, touching, and perfect. The wedding ceremony continued with a cocktail reception where the signature drink was the mojito! I had plenty of time to photograph the magnificent decorations. The flowers were arranged by one of the bridesmaids, France. It was MAGNIFICENT! The evening continued in a festive atmosphere with several moving testimonials from the wedding party and the groom's parents!
