Winter wedding at Château Saint-Antoine – J +J
Last February, at the magnificent Château Saint-Antoine on Montreal's South Shore, Jasmin and Julien chose to exchange vows surrounded by their loved ones. They opted for a winter wedding to ensure all their guests could attend, avoiding the often busy summer season. Choosing Château Saint-Antoine was a natural decision: they fell in love with it from their very first visit. So captivated were they that they booked the venue more than a year and a half in advance to be able to fully enjoy it for their big day.
My day began at the Left Bank HotelIn Beloeil, Julien was getting ready, surrounded by his wedding party. He had chosen to be accompanied by his two best friends and his brother for this precious moment. A certain nervousness was palpable—the kind I rarely see—but it was mixed with immense joy at the prospect of the day ahead. I also sensed a real sense of calm when he reunited with Jasmin before the ceremony, during their couple's photos.
Jasmin was waiting for me in the small house belonging to the Château, right next to it. He was in a good mood, and it was a real pleasure to photograph him with his entourage, consisting of his brother and his two best friends. They had the wacky idea of taking a picture in the bathtub with their champagne glasses, which I loved! They felt completely at ease right from the start.

Once Jasmin was ready and the photos with her entourage were finished, we went to meet Julien, who was already waiting for us at the Château. The couple wasn't really keen on having a "first look." Yet, from the very first photos taken together, it was impossible not to notice their attraction and the deep love that binds them. A solid, comforting love that makes them even happier when they're together—and that has lasted since the summer of 2016, since that fateful moment when they both swiped right on an app.
I confess I have a soft spot for winter weddings: the snow covering everything creates a magical, enchanting atmosphere, full of sweetness and wonder. And same-sex weddings also hold a very special place in my heart.
The interior of Château Saint-Antoine is truly impressive to see in person! Built at the end of the 19th century, it's a historic and unique residence. We were fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the space to have interior photos taken of couples and families. The couple was also able to warm up inside before heading out again with their entire wedding party!
Indoor Ceremony at Saint-Antoine Castle
The couple's guests were welcomed with mulled wine, served in a small antique cup, shortly before the ceremony. The ceremony took place in a large room adjacent to the Salle Comtes de Champagne at Château Saint-Antoine. It was celebrated by Sylvain Marcoux of Mariages à Bras OuvertsThe touching ceremony was conducted in both French and English, Julien's native language.
A warm and love-filled wedding reception
When it came time for cocktails, I could see that the couple had a large and welcoming circle of friends. The atmosphere was festive, with the bar open all evening afterward. Filled with unique details, the majestic Château charmed the guests.
In the evening, the DJs/MCs suggested that guests share a story about the couple to encourage them to kiss. Many shared their stories, and I found it really touching. It also gave me the opportunity to learn a little more about Julien and Jasmin, who certainly have a very exciting life!
The entertainment for the reception and the dance party was masterfully managed by David Lavallée and DJ Charley de Master D Productions.
I stayed until the first dance of the evening. When the dance floor filled up, I took a few photos, and then it was time for my assistant and me to leave everyone. We had a memorable day, having so much fun with the bride and groom. I'm so grateful they chose me to capture their beautiful wedding! Wishing them a long and happy life together!

I was so excited for Maxime and Jonathan's wedding. From our very first meeting via Zoom, there was a real connection between us. It was like we'd known each other for ages. I liked them instantly, and I think they felt the same way. Because even before we'd finished our call, they said YES to me being their photographer! I'd photographed weddings with two brides before, but this was going to be my first time with two men. I was truly moved to be the one they said yes to. I'd been looking forward to this day for months!
