Wedding at Château Vaudreuil: L + M

Lucie and Mathieu's magnificent wedding took place at Château Vaudreuil in Vaudreuil. It was autumn, October 22nd to be precise. The weather was wonderful, a lovely 20-22 degrees Celsius. We couldn't have asked for anything better: beautiful colors, fresh air, and a mild temperature. To start the day, I joined Lucie in her suite to photograph her accessories. The Château's rooms, renovated during the pandemic, are modern, beautiful, and smell brand new, haha. Camille, Mathieu's daughter, kept the bride-to-be company. The bride was overjoyed and so excited for the day ahead! Then I headed to Mathieu's parents' room, which they had reserved for the occasion. There, the groom was getting ready on his own. Mathieu, being quite calm by nature, seemed very zen and happy that day. Once dressed, Camille and I went outside to take some portraits. Then back to Lucie's room for the final touch to her preparations: getting dressed!

Lucie's magnificent bouquet was impressive and beautiful. It was made by Joanie from At the Flower Box, in Laval. And Mathieu's outfit, custom-made by Suitable, to Montreal.

A First Look in front of the Château Vaudreuil
During our Zoom meeting, the bride and groom had expressed their wish to see each other before the ceremony. I advised them to change the time of the ceremony to later, in order to take advantage of the beautiful light when they exchanged their vows. When I arrived at the hotel, I had "spotted" a beautiful place to do the first look. Mathieu was waiting for us at the front of the Château Vaudreuil which was quite shaded for the rest of the day. And what magnificent colors of the vine leaves by the way! We then walked around the superb grounds, by the water.

Outdoor autumn ceremony at Château Vaudreuil
Privileged to be in this precise location while the temperature resembled a summer temperature, it was a little supernatural. The beautiful fall colors with the cool summer temperature while it was October. The ceremony was therefore done outside, on the site set up for this purpose. With the St. Lawrence River as a backdrop which becomes the Bay of Vaudreuil. The celebrant being Mathieu's mother, everything was personalized and intimate.

I took advantage of the cocktail to take some pictures of decorations in the magnificent reception room. With a view of the water, this room is chic, tasteful and warm. I also took advantage of this moment to take pictures with the guests and the bride and groom, even though I wasn't staying for the evening. I just had time to take pictures of each table. Then I left them telling myself that I had spent a perfect day with them!

Lucie proceeded with the traditional bouquet toss, but outside. So as not to risk catching all the chandeliers in her reception room.
