A winter wedding at The Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant

Emily and Liam got married at the Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant a little more than 2 weeks ago on a super cold and sunny winter day. They met at Queen’s University in Ontario in 2006 and were friends before starting dating in 2008. Their relationship blossomed as they shared many of the same interests, predominantly sports and science fiction movies. A full year and three summers of long distance later, Liam (from Massachusetts USA) decided to move to Montreal where Emily was completing graduate studies. Montreal, with it’s charming character and snowy winters, was the perfect place for them to enjoy another two sports together: hockey and cross country skiing. As winter-lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts, Liam and Emily decided to have their wedding in the Laurentians woods. The Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant was the perfect location for them to celebrate their union with friends and families.

I started the day by taking photos of the accessories in Emily’s room to then go see the boys while they were getting dressed. After the bride and groom individual portraits, we did a first look (or a reveal) downstairs near a fireplace. What a moment it was! So full of emotions! We wanted to take advantage of the great light during wintertime and decided in advance to take photos with the couple and the bridal party, before the ceremony. It was -25C outside, so needless to say we were highly efficient! Emily was brave enough to take off her coat! I guess it helps to love winter sports!

The ceremony, so rich in emotions, took place at the hotel restaurant Borivage. The officiant was Philippe Galliache of FSEV.

The Borivage restaurant, first transformed for the ceremony, changed again during cocktail hour for the evening reception. By the time we took family pictures and went outside for the sunset, they were done with the transformation! How fast they did that still amazes me today!

Winter wedding photos at Moulin Callieres di Jasmin

My last wedding of 2016 was a winter wedding at Moulin Callieres di Jasmin, in Coteau-du-Lac. We did an engagement session a month before, a gift certificate they received from friends at work (Sarah’s boss referred me for the wedding). I got to know them better during the e-session and got to laugh with them. I was really looking forward to the day to see what Sarah and Danny had planned for their wedding. So many beautiful details, decorations created by the bride and groom, so much love and effort was put into everything! And it was the perfect weather with lots of snow for us to enjoy!

Sarah and Danny celebrated their ten years together with grandeur, on that special day! Ten years together is not nothing! They met in high school but got together in College. They loved the idea of getting married during wintertime, especially Sarah! They developed a theme around that with winter decorations and Sarah’s oldest and dearest friend designed and created a cape to wear. They’ve put a lot of hours on the conception of the decor and it worked! It was soooo beautiful! Lots of people joined in to help make their day the most fabulous and special it could be. One of Sarah’s friend even made the flowers! So here’s a few of my favorites from that day rich in emotions and laughter! What an amazing wedding day and an amazing couple they are! Oh yeah, and we decided to do a first look for their winter wedding photos to be memorable. It gets dark around 4pm in December.. and what a first look it was! One of Sarah and Danny’s favorite moments of the day. Tears in their eyes and all! Enjoy 🙂

Winter wedding in the Laurentians at the Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant

Brittany and Andrew celebrated their winter wedding about a month ago! Their intimate ceremony and reception were at the Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant in the Laurentians. It was natural for them to get married at that time of the year : they love snow. And most of all, their first date was during wintertime, five years ago, with their snowboards! Being really outdoorsy, those guys weren’t cold at all when they were taking pictures outside in the snow. I must say it was a warm day for February though. So here is a few photos of their laid back wedding that I enjoyed sooo much! And what about the decorations of the Borivage restaurant at the Grand Lodge? It was so beautiful! The restaurant was transformed for the occasion for the ceremony and the reception. Loved the centerpieces made by the lovely couple and the flowers from Fleuriste St-Jovite!
